I had a great stay at the G.E.L. great little resort in Ely with a nice staff. I love the Lake views & restaurant. The pool is nice & the Hot tub is clutch after a long day in the Minnesota cold. My only critique is they need to update the rooms a little & upgrade the rooms TVs. All together nice hotel for a winter or summer get away.
The rest of the staff was very welcoming and the rooms are gorgeous!! I would recommend this lodge to any of my friends and family!
A beautiful lodge, great people, great food, and fun. Everyone at the lodge treats us like gold. We were married there, so it has always been a special home away from home for us. Our vacation plans changed at the last minute due to an elderly parent that needed care, so we were able to stay only a few days. But we will be back for Thanksgiving as usual, and also New Year's. Since Jennifer and I both teach, we try hard to squeeze in a quick visit as our plans allow at any time during the year. Yes, it is a 14 hour drive (one way) to get there, but well worth it. Your will not find more quality people than at the Ely Lodge. Also, love the new remodeling that was in progress. We would love to have that flooring in our house.
The Grand Ely Lodge was a fantastic location to hold a conference. Their main hall was large enough for our group. With the smaller breakout walls you are able to split into smaller groups for presentations or meetings!
If you are planning a wedding this is a place to go to! Kelsey and her wedding staff are AMAZING!! I can't praise them enough. They were extremely helpful with every detail! Making the wedding day much more relaxed.
We've been talking about staying here for years and chose a winter weekend getaway to try it out. We loved our stay so mich we decided it would be the perfect spot for our Summer 2018 wedding. Pet fees are reasonable, our daughter loved they had a kiddie pool and the food at the restaurant was great!
