already has most gear (part of the cons to)

food

The gear worked fine. If you want to shave off some weight then you can bring your own lighter weight tents, and not take the fresh steaks/eggs option for the initial day or two.

cabins for two nights

Amazing boundary waters trip set up by John who was super friendly and gave us all the right info. Picked us up on time from the pick up location and brought victory beers to celebrate the great vacation we all had! Great outfitter who knows how to take care of his customers!!

This was a fun trip. We got there and got to spend a night in the cabin there, but when we headed out on the water we had a 1 and a half long portaged and we had to carry steak, eggs, bacon, brought worst along it (they were good but i would have chosen not to have them. They gave us a million loaves of bread (exaggerated but felt like it) for five days. we also decided to have pancakes for two days and because of this (without telling us) they gave us two whole bottles of syrup and a 5 pound frying pan NOT WORTH IT. Now for the sleeping situation, they gave us two tents a 4 person and a 6 person tent which the 4 person tent could comfortable hold 2 people and the 6 person could comfortably take 3. We had 6 people so one tent (the 6 person tent) had 4 people and the other had 2, we asked for another tent but it was not given. The sleeping bags they gave us were underrated, They said they could go down to "30" degrees but what that means is that you will hardly survive at 30 degrees. My sleeping bad zipper broke 3 nights in. We got back and they had cokes laying out for us (major plus). And another night at the cabin. All in All Boundry waters is fun but i would go somewhere else, although they are doing a good job and they are really trying i think the equipment is just old.

Thank you

Cons:

I loved the trip it was rated low because of reasons below

very unnecessary equipment

I would give them an 11 on a scale of 1-10

We went up with our Boy Scout Troop 2 Elgin Illinois. John and staff were very helpful in planning route and gear was excellent. Quetico is gorgeous and it is HIGH ADVENTURE. Being scouts we were prepared for what lies ahead, we had minor issues with gear ripped rain fly, zipper malfunction but nothing DUCT TAPE can't fix. North County Canoe Outfitters employees quality people who are interested in seeing you have the trip of a lifetime.

Pro:

I have used their full outfitting package twice and will continue to do so in the future. Both times I gave certian expectations for the trips and each time I was blown away. From the package services provided to the entry points to the routes, NCCO met and exceeded my trip goals. I highly recommend this outfitter.

set up a good trail for you to follow

John and the team were fantastic. Great advice and insights from this veteran guide and good logistics and handling of our Boy Scout party of 27.
