Have been going to Timber Trail for a few years with my family. We stay at one of the larger cabins for about a week. The cabins are well furnished and have a good backwoods vibe, all while being modern. The main Lodge has a little game room and the staff are always helpful with renting out a pontoon or canoe. There is a public beach and docking space for your own boat if you have one. Great little spot close to Ely.
We (3 adults) had a wonderful 4-night stay. The accommodations were comfortable and clean. We especially enjoyed the woodsy quiet of the evenings' sitting by the open fire pit, lakeside and listening to the sound of Lunes. The owners, who live on premise, were always available to answer questions or just be helpful, if needed.
Staying here now and everything is awesome so far! Staff is out of the world and the cabins are so well taken care of! Very clean place! We couldn't have asked to find a better place for our first time in the BWCA! We will be back for sure!
Brought my father and nephew on a fishing trip here. Very friendly people and clean facilities. Opted for some guided fishing and very happy we did. We all had an amazing time. My only regret is not making this trip years ago.
Timber Trail is AMAZING!! It's right on the edge of the Boundary Waters and this makes it a fantastic branching off point to explore in many different directions! There's tons of great canoeing of course, but you are also very close to multiple gorgeous hiking trails as well! Its close proximity to Ely makes it extremely convenient for grocery shopping, errands, going out, or really anything you need! The setting is incredibly scenic and the staff are amazing at helping you maximize your outdoor adventures! Our cabin was very clean, cozy, romantic... pretty much perfect! Don't have a single negative thing to say! Will definitely be back in the future!!
