Fun and beautiful
The Kawishiwi Falls are located just 5 miles east of Ely on Highway 169. The round trip walk to the falls from the parking lot is just short of one mile. The hiking difficulty is easy to moderate. There are a few hills along the trail, with scattered rocks and roots. I would not recommend sandals for this hike. At the falls, there are several vantage points close to water level. The view is worth the effort!
Trail was expected to be longer, and noise from hydroelectric kills the mood, but beautiful scenery, falls are fun to explore and a couple accessory trails to keep hiking to the connecting lakes
